Sell It, Shred It, Give It Away

A couple of opportunities are coming up over the next month to get rid of things you no longer want or need:

  • Howard County Greenfest (Saturday 4/13/13) - paper shredding, recycling of electronics/bikes/sewing machines/denim, charitable donations
  • Emerson Yard Sale (Saturday 5/4/13)


Details:

1. Howard County Greenfest 2013

Howard County will hold its 6th annual Greenfest in the Burrill Galleria and the Quad at Howard Community College on Sat., April 13th from 10 am - 4 pm.

Among the featured events and vendors:
  • Free shredding of up to 3 bags or boxes of paper (10 am - 2 pm)
  • Denim recycling (will be turned into insulation)
  • Bicycles, bicycle parts, and portable sewing machines collected by Bikes for the World
  • Electronics, eyeglasses, binoculars collected
  • Goodwill and Habitat for Humanity will be present
  • Events:
    • Children's activities (outdoor nature playspace, "How-To-Cowboy" Workshop, live reptiles, and more)
    • Workshops (tower gardening, stormwater utility, citizen science programs, etc.)

Unfortunately, this Earth Day event also conflicts with Emerson's Spring Clean-Up.

2. Annual Emerson Yard Sale

On Sat., May 4th from 8am - 12pm Emerson will hold its Annual Yard Sale in the parking lot of the Clubhouse (by the pool). For additional information see your email or contact Emerson.

The Yard Sale will be advertised in local newspapers during the last two weeks in April.
